Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate fuel cost for a trip?+
Divide the distance by your car's mileage to get the litres needed, then multiply by the price per litre. For example, 120 km in a car that does 14 km/L needs about 8.57 litres; at Rs 265 a litre that's about Rs 2,271.
How do I find my car's mileage?+
Fill the tank, reset the trip meter, drive normally, then fill up again. Divide the kilometres driven by the litres you added to get km per litre.
How do I convert km/L to L/100 km?+
Divide 100 by the km/L figure. A car that does 14 km/L uses 100 ÷ 14 ≈ 7.14 litres per 100 km. The calculator converts automatically when you switch units.
Why is my real fuel cost higher than the estimate?+
City traffic, high speeds, air conditioning, heavy loads and low tyre pressure all increase fuel use. Add 10–15% for a safe budget.
